11 months...

Every month, on the 11th, I pray.
I pray on the 10th in the States at 12:46am because that is the time- 11th in Japan at 2:46pm when the powerful earthquake struck Northeastern Japan.

Sadly, recently, my memories of my time up North are fading.
I am so busy in graduate school that I barely have time to take a moment to care and to think about Northeast Japan...

But praying makes me remember.
It makes me remember the hot and humid days in Rikuzen-Takata city when the flies were swarming the piles of rubble...
And the shock and devastation of seeing the damaged areas, ships wrecked, mud from the tsunami everywhere...
Most importantly, I remember the people... And this gives me a sense of warmth and hope.
And this is why I must keep caring and supporting.
Because there are people out there that still need our love and support.

It is amazing, the progress that has been made in 11 months...

I worry though about what we can not visually see.
The hurt and sadness that may be left in people's hearts.

That is why I must keep caring.
And why we must all keep caring and supporting.

On a happier note, thousands of people in Tokyo went on a No Nukes strike in Shibuya yesterday.
Mother nature is unpredictable, but there are things we can prevent from happening...
